Guidelines to help you create a video introduction

The video introduction is an essential part of the tutor profile. In as little as 2 minutes, you can tell potential students why they should choose you among the many tutors available.

It would help if you structured your video to create an engaging introduction that will appeal to potential students. TUKORS provides a standard video introduction scenario, as shown below, so please use it as a reference.

1. Introduce yourself (within 20 seconds): Start your introduction by introducing who you are.

1) State your nickname. TUKORS enforces the use of nicknames instead of actual names to protect tutors' privacy. Please introduce yourself with the nickname you created when you signed up.

2) Please describe where you are from and where you currently reside (e.g., from Seoul, Korea, but currently living in Los Angeles, USA).

3) Specify what languages you can speak. If you can talk about a language other than the language you are teaching, you will be more attractive to native speakers of that language.

2. Instructional Description (70 seconds or less): Explain how you can help students achieve their learning goals.

1) Describe what you are teaching (e.g., beginner/intermediate/advanced Korean, business Korean, Korean literature, Korean cultural content, etc.).

2) Please describe what qualifications, experience, and teaching skills you have concerning the lesson you are teaching.

3) Describe your teaching style and method(s).

4) If there are any materials that will be used during the lesson, please explain these.

3. Closing (within 30 seconds): Finish by appealing to yourself again.

1) Encourage potential students to book lessons with you.

2) Thank the viewer for watching your video.

3) End the video with a motivational message about learning Korean.

The followings tip will help to be more appealing in your video introduction:

1. Smile and speak in a friendly manner to appear more welcoming and trustworthy.

2. If you can speak multiple languages, please show yourself speaking those languages. If students know that you can speak their native language, their psychological stress during conversation lessons will be lessened.

3. Mention your hobbies or interests. Students will warm to you more if they find out they share something in common with you. 

4. Be concise, using well-structured sentences that the other party can easily understand.

5. After recording, check the quality and sound of the video. A well-made video will make you look more professional.

6. Check your video for passion and warmth. A video introduction should move the hearts of the students who watch it, not just convey information.

TUKORS approves registration after reviewing the video introduction uploaded by the tutor. For the video introduction to be quickly registered, you must comply with the video requirements below.

1. You should appear on the screen. Presentation files or slide shown on behalf of the tutor are not permitted.

2. Your personal information must be kept private. In the video introduction, we do not allow the disclosure of any information that exposes the tutor's personal information, such as your website, social media accounts, contact information, or real name.

3. Do not use copyrighted material. To avoid unnecessary copyright disputes, please do not use material created by others.

4. Only you should appear on the video screen. We do not allow anyone other than the tutor to appear.

5. Videos must be shot horizontally. We do not accept videos shot vertically.

6. Vidoes must be filmed with good resolution. Videos created at a low resolution will likely be rejected because they are difficult to watch.

7. We do not accept any filters that change the video screen. Please create a video introduction using basic settings.

8. The camera must be steady. A shaky video screen can make viewers feel dizzy.

9. Shoot in a quiet place. Any outside noise will interfere with the clarity of your speech.

10. Shoot in a bright location. It isn't easy to see the tutor's face when the video is shot in a dark place.

11. Videos must be no longer than 2 minutes.

A video introduction video must be produced in advance and registered on TUKORS. The registration method is as follows.

1. Record your video introduction using a webcam or other camera.

2. When your video introduction is ready, upload it to YouTube.

  (Caution: Do not mark your video as “Private”, otherwise, your potential students will be unable to view it and the video will be rejected.  If you upload your video to YouTube, mark it as “Unlisted.” Only you, TUKORS users, and those with the direct link can see your video.)

3. Paste the YouTube video link into the video registration field in Tutor Profile Management or the tutor profile registration section on the profile registration page.

동영상소개서를 만들 때 도움이 되는 지침서

동영상소개서는 튜터 프로필에서 매우 중요합니다. 2분 내의 짧은 시간 동안 당신은 잠재적인 학생들에게 왜 많은 튜터들 중에 당신의 선택해야 하는지를 어필할 수 있습니다. 

잠재적인 학생들에게 어필할 매력적인 동영상소개서를 만들기 위해서는 소개서를 짜임새 있게 만들어야 합니다. TUKORS에서는 아래와 같이 표준 동영상 소개서 시나리오를 제공하니 참고하여 제작하시기 바랍니다.

1. 본인 소개 (20초 이내): 본인은 어떤 사람인지를 소개하며 소개서를 시작합니다.

1) 본인의 이름을 소개합니다. TUKORS에서는 튜터의 개인정보 보호를 위해 이름 대신 닉네임을 사용하도록 강제하고 있습니다. 가입 시 생성하였던 닉네임으로 소개하시기 바랍니다.

2) 출신지가 어디이고, 현재 어디 거주 중인지 설명하십시오. (예: 대한민국 서울 출신이지만, 현재 미국 로스앤젤레스 거주 등)

3) 어떤 언어를 구사할 수 있는지에 대해 알려줍니다. 가르치는 언어 외의 언어도 구사할 수 있다면 해당 언어를 모국어로 사용하는 학생의 호감을 더 얻을 수 있을 것입니다.

2. 교육 설명 (70초 이내): 학생들이 학습목표를 달성하기 위해 어떻게 도움 줄 수 있는지 알려줍니다

1) 무엇을 가르치는지에 대해서 설명하십시오. (예: 초급/중급/고급 한국어, 비즈니스 한국어, 한국 문학, 한국 문화 컨텐츠 등)

2) 가르칠 수업과 관련하여 어떤 자격증이 있고, 어떤 경력을 경험했는가, 어떤 교육 기술을 가지고 있는지 알려주십시오

3) 본인의 교육 스타일과 교수법은 어떻게 되는지 설명하십시오.

4) 수업 중에 사용할 수업교재가 있는지, 있다면 어떤 수업교제를 사용할 것인지 설명하십시오

3. 마무리 (30초 이내): 당신을 한 번 더 어필하며 마무리합니다.

1) 잠재적인 학생들에게 당신의 수업을 예약하도록 참여 유도하십시오

2) 비디오 시청에 대한 감사 인사를 하십시오

3) 한국어 학습에 대한동기부여 메시지를 보내면서 영상을 마무리하십시오.

동영상소개서에서 당신을 더욱 매력적으로 만들기 위해서 아래의 팁이 도움이 될 것입니다.

1. 미소를 짖고 친근하게 말하십시오. 긍정적이고 신뢰할 수 있는 사람으로 느끼게 할 것입니다.

2. 여러 언어의 구사가 가능할 경우, 그 언어로 이야기하는 모습을 직접 보여주시기 바랍니다. 당신이 학생들의 모국어를 구사할 수 있다는 사실을 눈으로 보여주면, 그들의 회화수업에 대한 심리적 부담감이 낮아질 것입니다.

3. 학생들은 당신과 공통점이 있음을 알게 되면 조금 더 당신에게 호감을 가질 것입니다. 당신의 취미나 관심사를 당신이 가르치는 것과 연관하여 언급하십시오.

4. 간결하게 이야기하십시오. 간결한 구조의 문장은 상대가 쉽게 이해합니다.

5. 녹화한 후 비디오의 화질과 소리 등이 제대로 녹화되었는지 확인하십시오. 잘 제작된 동영상은 당신을 더욱 프로페셔널 하게 보이게 할 것입니다.

6. 녹화한 비디오에서 마음속의 울림이 있는지 확인하십시오. 비디오 소개서는 단순한 정보를 전달하는 것이 아니라 시청하는 학생들의 마음을 움직이게 만드는 동영상이 되어야 합니다.

TUKORS에서는 튜터가 업로드한 동영상소개서에 대해 심사한 후 등록을 허가합니다. 동영상소개서가 쉽게 등록하기 위해서는 아래의 동영상 요구사항을 반드시 준수하여야 합니다.

1. 본인이 화면에 나타나야 합니다. 튜터 본인 대신 프리젠테이션 파일 또는 슬라이드 쇼가 나오는 화면은 허용하지 않습니다.

2. 본인의 개인정보가 제공되지 않아야 합니다. 동영상소개서에서 개인 웹 사이트, 소셜 미디어 계정, 연락처, 본명 등 튜터 개인 정보를 노출하는 어떠한 정보의 공개도 허용하지 않습니다.

3. 저작권이 있는 자료를 사용하면 안 됩니다. 불필요한 저작권 분쟁을 피하기 위해서 타인이 제작한 자료를 사용하지 마시기 바랍니다.

4. 본인만 출연합니다. 튜터 본인 외에 타인이 출연하는 것을 허용하지 않습니다

5. 비디오는 가로로 제작되어야 합니다. 세로로 촬영된 비디오는 허용하지 않습니다.

6. 좋은 해상도로 촬영되어야 합니다. 너무 낮은 해상도로 제작된 동영상은 시청 자체가 어렵기 때문에 거절될 가능성이 높습니다.

7. 비디오 화면을 변화시키는 어떠한 필터도 허용하지 않습니다. 기본 셋팅으로 동영상소개서를 제작하시기 바랍니다

8. 카메라는 흔들리지 않아야 합니다. 비디오 화면이 흔들리면 시청자가 어지러움을 느낄 수 있습니다.

9. 조용한 장소에서 촬영합니다. 외부 소리가 있으면 튜터의 말을 듣는데 방해가 됩니다.

10. 밝은 장소에서 촬영합니다. 어두운 곳에서는 튜터의 얼굴을 확인하기 어렵습니다.

11. 동영상은 2분 이내여야 합니다. 더 짧은 것은 허용하지만 더 긴 것은 허용하지 않습니다.

비디오소개서 동영상은 미리 제작 후 TUKORS에 등록해야 합니다. 등록 방식은 아래와 같습니다.

1. 웹캠이나 기타 다른 카메라를 이용하여 비디오소개서를 녹화하십시오. 

2. 비디오소개서 동영상이 준비되면 YOUTUBE에 업로드하십시오.

  (주의: 동영상을 "비공개"로 설정하지 마세요. 만약 비공개로 설정할 경우 잠재적인 학생이 동영상을 볼 수 없으며 동영상이 거부됩니다. Youtube에 동영상을 업로드할 경우 "일부공개"로 설정하십시오. 귀하와 TUKORS 사용자 및 직접 링크를 가진 사람만 볼 수 있습니다.)

3. YOUTUBE 동영상 링크를 프로필 등록 페이지에 있는 동영사소개서 등록 란 또는 튜터 프로필 관리에 있는 비디오 등록 란에 붙여 넣습니다.
