드디어 BTS 완전체가 컴백 공연을 연다. 그들은 첫 번째 완전체 정규 앨범 ‘아리랑’을 들고 팬들 앞에 선다.

이번 공연에는 약 26만 명에 가까운 인파가 몰릴 것으로 예상되면서, 광화문 일대는 공연 준비와 안전 대책 마련으로 분주한 상황이다. 경찰 약 6,500명이 현장에 배치될 예정이며, 공연 당일인 3월 21일 토요일 오후 9시부터 다음 날인 22일 오전 6시까지 광화문에서 시청 구간의 차량 통행이 통제된다.

BTS가 이번에 발표하는 앨범의 이름은 ‘아리랑’이다. 앨범 표지에는 아리랑의 초성을 따온 ‘ㅇㄹㄹ’이 로고로 사용되었다.

아리랑은 한국인이라면 누구나 알고 있는 대표적인 민요로, 유네스코 인류무형문화유산이자 대한민국 국가무형유산으로 지정되어 있다.

많은 사람들은 아리랑을 한이 서린 슬픈 노래로 알고 있지만, 실제로 아리랑은 지역마다 다양한 버전이 존재하며 매우 신명나는 노래이기도 하다. 다만 가장 널리 알려진 경기 아리랑이 비교적 슬픈 분위기의 곡이어서, 그 영향으로 아리랑이 슬픈 노래라는 인식이 널리 퍼지게 되었다.

BTS 멤버들은 이번 앨범 ‘아리랑’의 제작에도 직접 참여했다. 그들은 “가장 한국을 상징하는 이미지는 무엇일까? 한국인의 희로애락을 담아낼 수 있는 것은 무엇일까? 한국인의 뿌리와 정서는 무엇으로 표현할 수 있을까?”라는 질문을 던졌고, 그 답을 아리랑에서 찾았다고 한다.

정규 5집 앨범 ‘아리랑’은

Body to Body, Hooligan, Aliens, FYA, 2.0, No. 29, SWIM, Merry Go Round, NORMAL, Like Animals, They Don’t Know About Us, One More Night, Please, Into the Sun 등 총 14곡으로 구성되어 있으며, 타이틀곡은 SWIM이다.

젊은 세대의 생각과 고민을 담은 음악으로 전 세계 팬들에게 사랑받아 온 BTS의 컴백 공연에 대한 기대감은 점점 커지고 있다. 공연이 얼마 남지 않은 지금, 광화문 일대에는 공연을 기념하는 다양한 조형물들이 설치되어 분위기를 더욱 고조시키고 있다.

At last, BTS is returning with a full-group comeback performance. They will appear before fans with their first studio album titled “ARIRANG.”

With nearly 260,000 people expected to gather for the event, the Gwanghwamun area is currently bustling with all of the preparations being made and safety measures put in place for the concert. Around 6,500 police officers will be deployed in the area. Traffic between Gwanghwamun and City Hall will be restricted from 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, to 6 a.m. the following day, March 22.

The title of BTS’s new album is “ARIRANG.” The album cover features the logo “ㅇㄹㄹ,” which represents the initial consonants of the word Arirang in Korean.

Arirang is one of Korea’s most well-known traditional folk songs. It has been designated both a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and a National Intangible Cultural Heritage of Korea.

Many people think of Arirang as a sorrowful song filled with deep emotion, but in reality, there are different regional versions of Arirang, and many of them are lively and energetic. However, the most widely known version, Gyeonggi Arirang, has a relatively melancholic tone, which has led to the widespread perception that Arirang is a sad song.

The members of BTS also participated directly in producing this album. They reportedly asked themselves questions such as:

“What image best represents Korea?”

“What best captures the joys and sorrows of the Korean people?”

“What symbolizes the roots and emotions of Koreans?”

According to them, the answer was Arirang.
